God’s promises are one of our greatest treasures in this life. “God is not a man, that he should lie.” (Numbers 23:19) If God says it, it is true and will come to pass.
We can trust that with all of our heart, soul, and mind. We don’t know the timing, and it can often take longer than we expect to see God’s promises come to pass, but storing God’s promises in our heart is one of the most life-giving things we can do.
They are meant for us to meditate on and lean into often. We can turn to them in times of joy and in times of sorrow. They are personal promises from God made to us.
Promises hold value and are special, especially when they come directly from the King of Kings. Let’s take a closer look at these 6 unbelievable promises from God.
I hope you can turn to them in all seasons and feel rejuvenated and refreshed knowing that your God sees you and has a mighty plan for your life.
1. “I will fight for you, you need only be still.” Exodus 14:14
What a promise! What peace it brings to simply be still in times of trouble knowing that our God is fighting for us. I had a situation a few months back that I desperately wanted to take into my own hands, but the Lord kept encouraging me to be still.
Guess what happened without me ever saying a word? The situation was completely resolved. God will fight for us, and He will handle it for us far better than we could ever handle it ourselves. We can take Him at His word and fully trust His promises to us.
Next time you find yourself in an impossible situation, lean in and see if your solution might be to simply be still. Your God will fight for you. Sometimes being still requires more faith than taking action. Human nature wants to find a solution and solve it, but often only with unwavering faith can we be still.
2. “God is for you, not against you.” Romans 8:31
The God of the universe is for you! He wants to see you succeed. He has plans to prosper you! We can trust Him when he calls us to step out on what appears to be stormy waters. We can know in our heart of hearts that anything God is calling us to do is for our good.
This is an amazing promise, and it is especially helpful when you feel God calling you into a new season or calling. “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Romans 8:31 God is for you! Trust Him as you step out in faith.
3. “I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19
He’s a way maker! He’s promising HE will make a way even when there appears to be no possible way. Have you experienced this in your life? Maybe you calculated your monthly bills and there was no possible way you were going to be able to pay them all, but instead of stressing over it, you trusted God and HE in his omniscient power made a way!
He can do the impossible when we step back and allow Him to work in our lives! We don’t have to stress over every situation that comes our way; we can instead trust God with it and trust Him to make a way for us!
4. “You will find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
The God of the universe is available to each and every one of us. He promises us that if we seek Him, we will find Him. Finding Him also means finding lasting peace, joy, and rest in His presence. He truly is all we need in this life and seeking Him above all else will lead you to a life you can only imagine.
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:9-10
5. “Give and it will be given to you.” Luke 6:38
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
According to this promise, not only will you get back what you give, but it will be pressed down to make room for God to reward you with even more! God asks us to be gracious givers because He knows the great reward it brings to us body, spirit, and soul.
Pray and ask God to give you a heart positioned toward being generous. We don’t have to be stingy with all that God gives us because He promises us there will always be a reward when we give.
6. “Come to me and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
This is one of my favorite promises from God. I love the way the message translation puts this passage.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11: 28-30 MSG
When we are weary and tired, which is bound to happen in this life, He invites us to come away with Him. Turn to Him in these moments, and He will give you rest. A rest different from what the world has to offer. A lasting, truly refreshing rest. Come away with Him. It’s the ultimate invitation from our loving Father.

These are beautiful. I too have realized that letting God take care of it brings me peace and it always turns out better that anything I could have done. Then I just turn the blessing back into praise!
