Do you wish you had more time to blog? I’m discovering that having more time to blog comes down to one three letter word, ASK. In John 15:7, Jesus tells us, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
In my pursuit to find more time to blog, the Lord began to reveal to me that I have not because I ask not. Could this be the case for you too? Below I am going to share with you three ways we can begin to ask.
Ask God
If you desire to have more time to blog, start by asking God. It seems so simple now, but I missed this step for so long. We have not because we ask not. Let’s start by ASKING.
I think you’ll be amazed by the results. In John 14:13, Jesus says, “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
God has called you to this great mission of blogging, and He desires for you to have time to do the thing you feel called to do. I encourage you to start asking God for more time to blog.
Ask Others
“Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:19
Ask others to come in agreement with you on finding more time to blog. Right around the time the Lord began revealing to me to simply ask for more time, a kind reader reached out to me to see if I had any prayer requests.
I quickly jumped on the opportunity to ASK, and I asked if she could join me in prayer on finding more time to blog. I am telling you when she and I came in agreement on this prayer request, I felt a shift. Ask others to come in agreement with you and watch God begin to move.
Ask Yourself
Last but not least, is to ask yourself. “Am I truly using my time wisely?” “Are there tasks I’m spending too much time on and others I’m spending too little time on?”
Through this process of praying and asking for more time to blog, the Holy Spirit began to reveal to me that I had more of a time use issue and less of a time issue.
This was hard to process as a busy mom with many demands. I wanted to respond with, “What do you mean I have a time use issue? I don’t have any time.” But the truth was that I had more time than I realized, and I had been giving into the excuse of “I don’t have time” for too long.
Ask and Keep Asking
Finding time to blog is not always seamless and I still have to fight for it at times, but I believe if you will begin by asking the Lord, asking others, and getting honest with yourself about where your time is truly going, you will be amazed at the time you actually have to blog.
God is for you and He wants to see you succeed at this! Start by asking Him for more time to do what you feel called to do and watch the floodgates begin to open wide for you. If it doesn’t happen right away, I encourage you to keep on asking.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.”
